摘要: Patients with insulin-secreting islet cell tumors are at risk for severe, protracted hypoglycemia. Surgical removal of the tumor is treatment choice. During diagnostic work up, medical hypoglycemia often mandatory, while adequate protection against during operation sometimes difficult to achieve. In cases malignant (metastatic) insulinomas, curative surgery is, in most instances, not possible, necessitating additional (medical) therapy protect these patients from damage caused by hypoglycemic attacks.
