摘要: We have previously demonstrated the 24-hour redistribution and reabsorption of bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid delivered to lung during a bronchoscopic procedure in normal volunteers. In this work we utilize image-matching procedures correlate changes regional function. Lung CT datasets from six human subjects were used study. Each subject was scanned at four time points before after BAL procedure. Image registration performed align images different inflation levels. The resulting dense displacement fields utilized track tissue volume reveal deformation patterns local parenchymal quantitatively. accuracy assessed by measuring landmark matching errors, which on order 1 mm. results show that quantitative-assessed agreed well with bronchoscopist-reported unretrieved whole lungs (squared linear correlation coefficient 0.81). average difference baseline 24 hours around 2%, indicates almost absorbed hours. Regional lung-function correlated presence fluid, function returned as reabsorbed.
