摘要: An assay, the paper radioimmunosorbent test (PRIST) for measurement of total serum IgE in rat, that allows down to a level 0.25 ng/ml, is described. With this assay it has been demonstrated significant differences exist normal levels non-immunized rats. These are strain-dependent, and strains may be classified as low (less than 50 ng/ml), medium (50--300 ng/ml) or high (greater 300 levels. The not sex-dependent. Environmental factors have pronounced influence, optimal housing conditions resulting stable while suboptimal result with great fluctuations. Hybridization experiments suggest multigenic control, having dominating suppressor effect.
