摘要: Stereospecific generation of α-amino ketones from common acids is difficult to achieve, often employing superstoichiometric alkylating reagents and requiring multiple protecting group manipulations. In contrast, the α-oxoamine synthase protein family performs this transformation stereospecifically in a single step without need for groups. Herein, we detail characterization 8-amino-7-oxononanoate (AONS) domain four-domain polyketide-like SxtA, which natively mediates formation ethyl ketone derivative arginine. The function each four domains elucidated, leading revised proposal initiation saxitoxin biosynthesis, potent neurotoxin. We also demonstrate synthetic potential SxtA AONS, applied synthesis panel novel ketones. 1 Introduction 2 Native Module Activity 3 New Reactions with AONS 4 Conclusions Outlook
