摘要: Results from x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS or ESCA), low-energy ion scattering spectrometry (LEIS ISS); and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analyses are presented for unmodified modified poly (methylmethacrylate) (PMMA) polymer films. Analysis of the PMMA polymers (isotactic, syndiotactic, atactic) via ESCA, ISS, FTIR, established surface composition, bonding, functionality before modification was employed. An rf-plasma glow discharge created an Ar/H2O gas mixture at different exposure times power levels used to treat surface. Subsequent FTIR these PMMA’s show effects in terms a model structural differences, over limited depth (50–100 A). The composition changes resulting surfaces discussed with respect proposed mechanisms plasma reaction differences tacticity reactant. A two-step mechanism involving reactive decarboxylation/reduction followed by H2O adsorption is understand spectroscopic results.
