摘要: Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the nail unit is a rare disorder. An association with high-risk genital human papillomavirus (HPV) infection has been reported. We report 28-year-old immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected bisexual man who had multiple invasive SCC fingers, infected type HPV 26. Classification 26 as high- or intermediate-risk uncertain, due to its presence in cervical cancer. Despite successful treatment highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART), patient developed extensive hyperkeratotic nailbed proliferations all fingers. Tumours were refractory and invaded into adjacent tissues. X-rays hands demonstrated bone invasion, necessitating amputation distal phalanges several Histologically, differentiated preinvasive verrucous SCCs identified. Molecular DNA typing identified some premalignant lesions. By situ hybridization was detected numerous tumour cells, indicating productive high-level amplification viral genome. In remaining proliferations, 58, cutaneous HPVs putative new appears be causally involved development this immunosuppressed patient. Timely evaluation chronic tumours recommended, especially immunocompromised patients. Identification 26, besides known types, may identify patients at risk for developing possibly other locations.
