摘要: Objectives. Deep brain stimulation of the subthalamic nucleus (STN-DBS) is a recognized therapy that improves motor symptoms in advanced Parkinson’s disease (PD). However, little known about its impact on personality. To address this topic, we have assessed personality traits before and after STN-DBS PD patients. Methods. Forty patients with were Temperament Character Inventory (TCI): Urgency, Premeditation, Perseverance, Sensation Seeking impulsive behaviour scale (UPPS), Neuroticism Lie subscales Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ-N, EPQ-L) surgery three months STN-DBS. Collateral information obtained from UPPS was also reported. Results. Despite improvement function reduction dopaminergic dosage reported lower score TCI Persistence Self-Transcendence scales, STN-DBS, compared to baseline (; ). Relatives significantly increased scores Lack Premeditation at follow-up (). Conclusion. associated changes direction impulsivity.
