摘要: 1. The antihypertensive effect and side-effects of the new centrally acting agent guanfacine (BS 100-141, Estulic) guanethidine (Ismelin) were compared in a single-blind, cross-over study. study consisted two active treatment periods 6 weeks each, both preceded by 1-3 placebo period. 2. Sixteen ambulant patients (six male, ten female) with mild or moderate hypertension admitted to also receiving diuretic therapy (clopamide 10-20 mg daily). On average optimal daily dose was 3 20 mg. 3. An equally large significant decrease blood pressure produced drugs. Both caused very slight reduction heart rate. Mild orthostatic hypotension occurred 11 during therapy. Dryness mouth 13 taking guanfacine.
