摘要: Summary Growing research suggests that work identity should be understood as multiple dynamic. This paper seeks to add nuance this discussion by introducing the notion of polyphony analysis ( Evans, 2004 , Rowan and Cooper, 1999 Sidorkin, ). Firstly, drawing on Bakhtin, 1984 1986 it argues understanding self polyphonic helps account for its complexity, multiplicity ambivalence. Secondly, explores an experience a demand placed modern organizations: Kondo's ethnography, is argued, provides rich personal narratives wrought with ironies contradictions, while Boltanski Chiapello's (2005) can read examination how organizations place complex ambivalent demands individual identities.
