摘要: The objective of this paper was to estimate the farmers preferences based on non-market traits in selection, breeding and conservation of indigenous chicken. study carried out four selected counties Kenya. Data were collected using structured questionnaires with use multi-attribute elicitation techniques applied 450 rural households. Conjoint analysis through an ordered probit model used analyse data. identified preferred by farmers their current low-input production circumstances. Using these traits, chicken can be for higher productivity performance while retaining their diversity adaptability. In general, determination importance various attributes elucidates stakeholders some valuable aspects that would assist them overcoming some major constraints production areas and at same time provides vital information conservation development programmes.
