Conversion of a green light emitting zinc-quinolate complex thin film to a stable and highly packed blue emitter film

摘要: Abstract Tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline) metal complex Znq 2 , used as light-emitting layer in electroluminescent (EL) devices was synthesized and optical properties of as-deposited thin films were studied. Interesting phenomenon observed while studying the ageing degradation behavior consequently a stable form having strong blue photoluminescence (peak 465 nm) discovered. This converted (from green to emitting) film has higher molecular packing density comparable intensity with film. Here, we report on production this material under controlled conditions its properties. The have been deposited by thermal evaporation quartz silicon substrates. constants ( n k ) (to blue) determined using spectroscopic ellipsometry. Environment induced effects studied ellipsometry, UV–vis transmission measurements.
