摘要: Dielectric measurements on the nematic phase of N-(p-methoxybenzylidene)-p-butylaniline (MBBA) magnetically aligned with long molecular axis parallel to both magnetic and electric fields show presence an absorption a relaxation time at (300 K) 10.1 × 10–8 s dipole component (2.3 ± 0.2)× 10–30 C m. The restricted reorientation this small occurs by rotation about perpendicular length requires large activation enthalpy (120 20) kJ mol–1. value found for high frequency permittivity shows second higher frequencies.The lower now reported could not be detected in isotropic phase.
