Cross sections for electron-impact single ionization of Kr8+ and Xe8+

摘要: Absolute cross sections for electron-impact single ionization of Kr/sup 8+/ and Xe/sup ions were measured energies below the thresholds to 1500 eV using crossed-beams method. A significant fraction ion beams in metastable configurations. Configuration-average distorted-wave calculations ground first-excited configurations are compared experimental data. For both this study, excitation-autoionization contribution total section is found be much larger configuration, which includes levels, than ground-state ions. Maxwellian rate coefficients calculated published results.
