Adjunctive photodynamic therapy improves the outcomes of peri‐implantitis: a randomized controlled trial

摘要: BACKGROUND Photodynamic therapy (PDT) can be used for the management of peri-implantitis. This study aimed to explore efficacy and safety PDT peri-implantitis in Chinese Han patients. METHODS was a single-centre, open-label, randomized controlled trial participants with treated at Beijing Chao-Yang Hospital, 1:1 or no PDT. performed using toluidine blue (10 mg/mL; 3 min) 635-nm laser (750 mW; 10 s/implant side; minimum 60 mW/cm2 ). The primary outcome decline periodontal probing depth (PD) 6 months. secondary outcomes were peri-implant plaque index (PLI), sulcular bleeding (SBI), clinical attachment loss (CAL). CAL, PLI SBI better (P < 0.05 controls). CONCLUSION combined mechanical debridement significantly improves PD, Importantly, achieved CAL cleaning.
