摘要: This chapter guides the reader to material in this book. It begins by outlining meaning and rationale for agent-based models/modelling (ABM), focusing on their history, how they evolved sit within broader context of modelling simulation geographical systems. Three themes which we see essential ABM are then outlined, namely question detail versus model data parsimony represents former, questions validation that flow from this, lastly issues about extent is a generic or specific style terms applications. We examine essence such models way behaviour modelled using various rules, discuss technical as computation, visualization, error, schemes design. All sets chapters follow. conclude explaining briefly what contained each guiding best use
