摘要: Therapy with antimicrobial combinations has been used as long antimicrobials have available. Combinations of antibiotics are often to take advantage different mechanisms action and/or toxicity profiles. Well established indications for combination therapy include: (a) empirical treatment life-threatening infections; (b) polymicrobial (c) prevention the emergence bacterial resistance; and (d) synergism. Disadvantages increased expense; risk adverse effects; antagonism; superinfection. Combination should be considered serious Gram-negative infections caused by Enterobacter cloacae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa Serratia marcescens, certain Gram-positive Enterococcus spp. Staphylococcus Selection agents dependent upon local susceptibility patterns, clinical experience, site infection, potential toxicities cost.
