摘要: The development of an artificial graft requires formulation biomechanical design criteria. compliance artifical grafts, based on the intraluminal pressure-internal diameter (Pi-Di) relationship, was measured by a novel method using digital X-ray imaging system coupled with edge detection algorithm and pressure transducer. Pi-Di values were obtained from angiographic images under continuous inflation canine femoral artery anastomosed expanded poly(tetrafluoroethylene) (ePTFE) vascular as model vessel pressurized contrast medium. Di at Pi NIH Image software specially programmed for entropy filter method, which enables phantoms images, determined. relationships showed “J-shape” curve artery, steeper line very low pressure-dependent distensibility ePTFE graft, intermediate anastomosis protion. two indices compliance, stiffness parameter (β value) (Cd), both calculated relationships, 10.6 6.8%/mmHg × 10-2 164 0.51%/mmHg ePTFE, 14.4 5.5%/mmHg portion, respectively. This can measure any portions sampling in single experiment real-time basis high accuracy, compared conventional methods, even cases intimal thickening and/or connective tissues-adhered vessels, may serve to provide information compliant criteria tissue-engineered graft. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
