Plant-based foods in Canada: information, trust and closing the commercialization gap

摘要: Despite the growing awareness of links between meat consumption and human, animal environmental health, rates protein rich plant-based foods (PBFs) in Canada remain relatively low. The purpose this paper is to better understand how information sources trust relate PBFs Canadians’ diets, these variables may factor into closing commercialization gap for Canada.,A geographically representative sample Canadians (n=410) participated a 20-minute, online survey. survey consists 24 questions covering demographic characteristics, motivations behind current future food choices, frequency PBF consumption, about levels sources.,Most get from labels, internet family friends, but only half provide accurate information. Sources (e.g. licensed health care professionals) that rank high are consulted by minority respondents.
