摘要: The recruitment challenges for MCI and AD subjects into clinical trials are well known, this is particularly true early phase studies. Currently, only 10-20% of all patients who referred research from the community trial eligible (Grill Karlawish, 2011). Due to limited specific study objectives in designs, these rates drop approximately one patient every two months. Barriers multi-factorial, involving centered factors, issues related caregiver/study partner participation, aspects involvement their treating physicians. To address challenge, we implemented a Memory Clinic within PAREXEL’s Early Phase Clinical Pharmacology Unit. Our objective was significantly facilitate by providing resources education patients, physicians, caregivers community. Clinic’s primary goals were increase visibility partnerships with local organizations referring Members team co-sponsored outreach events organizations, thereby increasing awareness about services memory clinic. Secondly, physician expanded include those not previously amenable referrals. Finally, given evaluations, free charge results discussed caregivers. If interested hearing more possible opportunities, they unit screening visit. We found that new referrals participation increased as result paradigm. In 2016, 12 diagnosed or per protocol, 3 randomized. 2017, 98 16 enrolled addition, our referral network 30 physicians over 20 mile radius. Collaborations national non-profit also increased, public importance development treatments Alzheimer’s Disease. summary, engagement service improved 1 unit. Resource education, staff training, dedicated medical professionals can improve provide additional participants above traditional methods registry enrollment large urban area.
