摘要: BACKGROUND. The clinical and pathologic features of 46 patients 40 to 60 years old with Ewing sarcoma family tumor (ESFT) diagnosed at the authors' institute between 1972 2000 were reviewed. METHODS. Ten metastatic tumors presentation went elsewhere for treatment; 35 36 remaining cases localized disease treated institution according different chemotherapy protocols activated in successive years. In nonmetastatic local treatment was surgery 9 patients, radiotherapy 16, followed by 10. RESULTS. At follow-up times ranging from 6 34 (mean, 17.8 years), 15 (42.9%) remained continuously disease-free, 19 experienced recurrence, 1 died chemotherapy-related toxicity. The 5- 10-year event-free survivals 42.9% 35.2%, respectively, overall 46.1% 42.8%, respectively. Comparing this group 586 younger seen same period Rizzoli, only difference 2 groups a significantly higher rate located soft tissues larger volume older group. results achieved comparable groups, although had lower dose-intensity WHO grade 4 hematologic toxicity. CONCLUSIONS. For adjuvant neoadjuvant essentially groups. It is concluded that or ESFT should be way as included trials these tumors. Cancer 2007. © 2007 American Society.
