Development of a radio frequency ion source with multi-helicon plasma injectors for neutral beam injection system of Versatile Experiment Spherical Torus

摘要: Despite of high plasma density, helicon has not yet been applied to a large area ion source such as driver for neutral beam injection (NBI) system due intrinsically poor uniformity in the discharge region. In this study, radio-frequency (RF) with multi-helicon injectors density good designed and constructed NBI Versatile Experiment Spherical Torus at Seoul National University. The consists rectangular expansion chamber (120 × 120 mm3), four annular permanent magnets RF power system. Main feature is downstream confinement cusp magnetic field configuration which generated by arranging polarities injectors. paper, detailed design injector characteristics are presented.
