摘要: Abstract An osmotic membrane bioreactor (OMBR) and a novel hybrid ultrafiltration OMBR (UFO-MBR) were investigated for extended time. In OMBR, water is drawn by osmosis from activated sludge through forward (FO) into draw solution. OMBRs provide superior rejection of dissolved constituents, including salts nutrients, compared to conventional UF MBRs, the FO membranes in have low fouling propensity. Yet, high constituents results accumulation nutrients sludge, with potential detrimental effects on biological processes. A new strategy mitigating salt was using parallel same (UFO-MBR). Results long-term UFO-MBR investigations revealed that overall removal chemical oxygen demand, total nitrogen, phosphorus greater than 96%, 82%, 99%, respectively. We demonstrated salinity could be maintained, recovered permeate at concentrations 50 mg L− 1, substantially reduced. Additionally, capable simultaneously producing quality RO stream nutrient-rich one integrated system.
