摘要: What is the greatest contribution that ecological psychologists can offer social psychology? Ideally, could explain how people directly perceive unique properties of their partners. But partners are distinguished from mundane objects because they possess mental traits, and tradition tells us minds cannot be seen. When considering ideal possibility, we reject doctrine posit as perceivable. For psychology, this entails asserting types things able to structure ambient energy. Contemporary research theory suggests distinctly ways attacking problem, but problem not new. Almost 100 years ago, Holt argued for visibility minds. Thus when these ideas, face a choice at once about future past. Extending psychology’s first principles into realm, come point where must either accept or Holt’s arguments, wider context bring. In doing so, our ability study uniquely social.
