摘要: The rise of the Internet Things promotes adopting wireless sensor networks (WSNs) in daily life. In WSNs, ZigBee standard has gradually become dominant communication protocol. supports various network topologies, including tree structures. Regarding address assignment topology, a distributed mechanism (DAAM) is specified by standard. Using DAAM yields simple routing method; however, parameter constraints cause unpreventable orphan problem. Therefore, an innovative contention approach was proposed based on time-division multiplexing (TDMAA) mechanism, which utilizes beacon intervals for contention. TDMAA outperforms conventional DAAMs uneven node distributions, sometimes assigning 20% more addresses.
