摘要: Abstract There is accumulating evidence on the short term effects of psychological preparation for surgery, although way in which these are produced not clear. The reviewed light three explanatory models have been put forward: (a) Work worry—that there a curvilinear relationship between preparation, fear and subsequent adjustment, with moderate facilitating recovery; (b) Information—that supplies information reduces uncertainty; (c) Coping—that points out opportunities coping facilitate recovery. None find consistent support from data. It seems likely that will vary according to nature situation as well personality patient. necessary studies attend more clearly individual differences, improve dependent variables used.
