摘要: BACKGROUND The United States is currently experiencing the largest hepatitis A virus (HAV) outbreak since introduction of a vaccine in 1996. More than 31,000 cases have been reported 2016. Although HAV had largely considered foodborne pathogen recent years, this has spread primarily through person-to-person transmission urban settings and associated with homelessness substance use. Michigan was one first states to report an outbreak, 910 between August 2016 December 2018. METHODS We analyzed surveillance vaccination data from using disease model investigate how timing coverage influenced spatiotemporal patterns distinguishing Southeast Michigan, where began, rest state. RESULTS estimated that little impact (3% averted [95% confidence interval (CI) = 1%, 8%]) but substantial state, preventing larger (91% CI 85%, 97%]) lasting several more years. CONCLUSIONS Our results emphasize value targeting populations local not yet sustained rather already waning. Simulation modeling can aid proactive reactive decision-making may help direct response outbreaks emerging other states. See video abstract: http://links.lww.com/EDE/B704.
