摘要: Abstract Linear video coding (LVC) has recently emerged as a very promising paradigm for robust delivery over unreliable channels. The pioneering LVC paper, introducing SoftCast, showed that, cross-layer approach, based on linear-only processing followed by analog modulation, was able to improve the quality of received with respect traditional, layered approaches, when links several users are considered. This paper considers power allocation problem transmission channel consists sub-channels, each its own constraint. framework models, e.g., multi-antenna, DSL, or powerline systems. Minimizing mean-square error at receiver leads an precoding and decoding matrix design problem. Our contributions consist in (1) formulating such way that multi-level water-filling solution proposed MIMO channels can be adapted LVC; (2) proposal three suboptimal allocations techniques, different trade-offs between complexity efficiency; (3) multiple receivers scenario; (4) extensive simulations methods. optimal largely outperforms simple adaptation considered SoftCast per-subchannel constrained problem; moreover two solutions perform close one, sensibly reduced complexity.
