摘要: In the present study, we carried out a detailed light microscopy investigation of cytochemical properties haemocytes colonial ascidian Botryllus schlosseri, using new stains and enzymatic markers, panel antibodies lectins as probes to characterise blood cells further. Results indicate that lymphocyte-like are circulating undifferentiated recognised by anti-CD34 antibody there at least two defined haemocyte differentiation pathways: i) phagocytes, represented hyaline amoebocytes macrophage-like cells, which share similar staining properties, same hydrolytic enzyme content well presence detectable cytochrome-c-oxidase activity, recognition anti-CD39 Narcissus pseudonarcissus agglutinin; ii) cytotoxic cell line, granular morula have vacuoles stained Ehrlich’s stain Neutral Red; DOPA-containing protein inside vacuoles. Pigment nephrocytes involved in catabolite storage but their relationships with other types less clear.
