摘要: Abstract The aim of this work was to investigate the effect silicon content on formation and morphology Ti3SiC2 based composite via infiltration porous TiC preforms. gelcasting process used for fabrication It found that infiltrated sample at 1500 °C 90 min from a mixture 3TiC/1.5Si containing 92 wt.% Ti3SiC2. With increasing SiC impurity phases, Vickers hardness increased maximum value 12.9 GPa in Ti3SiC2–39 wt.%TiC composite. Microscopic observations showed matrix composed columnar, platelike equiaxial grains with respect content.
