First report of cyanobacterium Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii from Algerian freshwaters.

摘要: This study investigated the first report of cyanobacterium Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii in Algerian freshwaters. The morphological characteristics two morphotypes observed Lake Oubeira (Algeria) conformed to those natural populations C. species described literature. produced only straight trichomes. During (February 2000-September 2001), this occurred as a codominant with Microcystis spp., and peak was during autumn (November 2000) remarkable density estimated be 43 x 10(5) trichomes/L. However, difficulty isolating culturing these limited evaluation their toxic potential.
