HLA-B27 allele frequency in Sri Lankan patients with spondyloarthritides

摘要: This preliminary study aims to describe the HLA-B27 allele frequency in Sri Lankan patients with spondyloarthritides (SA). An anonymised database of 373 SA referred for testing was retrospectively analysed. Eighty five (22.8%) were positive allele. A male preponderance observed among positives. The this sample relatively low compared published studies other populations. Further research is needed identify predominant subtypes determine which are most prevalent a larger SA, and define their association specific types SA.
