摘要: The great scallop, Pecten maximus is a potentialaquaculture species in Norway, but production to date has been low. Greatscallop landings 2000 were 571 tonnes, exclusively from harvesting wildstocks, landed by divers. Approximately two million juveniles of 15mm shell height have produced annually hatchery since1998, and distributed farmers. Research projects on larvae juvenilesinclude studies various antibacterial treatments, improved culture systemdesigns application probiotics. Results hanging cultures underdifferent environmental conditions indicate strong correlation between lowtemperature poor survival, point out the importance careful selectionof cultivation sites. Good growth potential scallops Norwegian waters hasbeen shown, it possible reach market size 10 mm shellheight three four years. Experiments with fences other strategiesprotecting cultured seabed predation crabs are inprogress.
