摘要: Abstract In Norway sea ranching depends on deployment of animals local origin, and growers demand large spat outside the natural production season. To develop stock-specific juveniles, knowledge scallop reproductive cycle performance in hatchery was needed. Broodstock sized scallops ( Pecten maximus ) were collected from 5 locations along coast 59°N to 65°N during 2004 2005, translocated location at 61°N. The cycles characterised possibility performing successful conditioning spawning reproduction investigated. Results showed that south-western (3 locations) all had distinct season summer peaks cycles. Scallops northern part (2 quickly rebuilt gonad after seemed have full gonads through most year. Gonad indices southern group varied between 15%, while it 10 25% total tissue weight. Both December March individuals (> 75%) empty gonads, as being maturation stages 3–6. There no complete synchronous development year, developmental present times. small changes translocation new environment. kept original cycle, but spawn later summer. 3 responded methods late autumn spring, did one populations, other population could not be conditioned winter. Based we suggest belonged different populations. differences timing gametogenesis response environment implications for must accounted order fulfil requirements site-specific Norway.
