摘要: NOT INFREQUENTLY, a carcinoma is associated with one or more "polyps" in the same segment of bowel that visualized proctosigmoidoscope. Prompted by this observation, we undertook study not only to evaluate histologic character sentinel satellite polyp (Fig 1) but also ascertain whether there was relationship between "polyp" and might shed some additional light on controversial "adenoma-carcinoma" sequence. The term as used refers any protuberance, projection, excrescence, mammillation above mucosal surface rectum, rectosigmoid, lower sigmoid visible naked eye. Methods Materials Surgical specimen from segments resected during 1955 for adenocarcinoma (distal 25 cm) were selected.
