摘要: We report a case of patient with acute toxic hepatitis induced by weight-loss herbal supplement. A took natural extract supplement containing Garcinia cambogia for only two days and visited Kyung Hee University Hospital at Gangdong complaining abdominal discomfort jaundice. Serum ceruloplasmin level was decreased hepatic copper levels on liver biopsy specimen were increased. Although, those mimicking Wilson’s disease, pathological findings clinical manifestations consistent drug-induced hepatitis. Genetic test negative disease. After one month hospitalization, the improved discharged home in good condition. She followed up four months her symptoms signs continued to improve steadily normal function tests. Our emphasizes importance taking caution when supplements purpose weight loss. This also demonstrates suspicion medication-related adverse events, even though duration materials seems be too short affect patients.
