Age and growth of the silky shark Carcharhinus falciformis from the Pacific Ocean

摘要: :  The present study estimated the age and growth of silky shark Carcharhinus falciformis in Pacific Ocean. Samples biological data were collected from Japanese tuna longline purse seine fisheries 1992 to 1999. Vertebra centra picked 145 males 153 females for determination. number annual rings observed was 0–8 0–13, respectively. Combined sex von Bertalanffy equations obtained as follows: Lt = 216.4(1 − e−0.148(t+1.76)) where Lt is precaudal length cm at t. A mature size considered be approximately 135–140 cm (precaudal length), with an 5–6 years, whereas corresponding values 145–150 cm 6–7 Birth ranged 48 60 cm. There no remarkable difference growth, birth maturity between Atlantic Oceans. life history parameters are same both oceans.
