摘要: Plate impact experiments and recovery were performed on 92.93wt% alumina ceramics using a 100-mm-diameter compressed-gas gun. Free surface velocity histories traced by VISAR interferometer. There is recompression signal in free velocity, which shows evidence of failure wave impacted alumina. The velocities are 1.27km/s 1.46km/s at stresses 7.54GPa 8.56GPa respectively. It drops to 0.21km/s after the material released. SEM analysis recovered samples showed transit intergranular microcracks transgranular with increasing shock loading. continuous fracture zone may be associated damage accumulation process during propagation waves.
