摘要: Abstract Central venous access for the purpose of supplying parenteral nutrition to pediatric age group requires a careful definition patient’s caloric need, estimated duration therapy, and an assessment available sites. Peripheral vein is limited by density nutrient fluids, while peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) offers new technology accessing veins obviating risk access. Routes are several there also variety placement. Tunneled percutaneous placement silicone rubber cuffed via subclavian approach that technique we use most commonly. The risks such include mechanical placement, thrombosis sites, importantly catheter related infections, either at exit site, subcutaneous tunnel or pouch, even generalized sepsis. With full knowledge spectrum techiques, materials, risks, safe total can be safely delivered children in need.
