摘要: The authors sought to evaluate the safety and efficacy of transabdominal multifetal pregnancy reduction (MFPR) in management iatrogenic spontaneous pregnancies. Data were combined from 463 complete pregnancies that underwent MFPR at major worldwide centers. was performed with a 100% technical success rate (there no failed procedures); 83.8% had delivery potentially viable fetuses (defined as 24 weeks gestation or later) 83.5% these delivered 33 later. risk fetal loss 3.9% 2 less post-procedure 4.6% 4 16.2% than gestation. Gestational age varied principally number remaining 7/1% prematurely 28 9.4% 29-32 weeks. incidence obstetric medical complications appeared be unaffected there increase congenital malformations. appears an efficient safe way improving outcome unambiguously for quadruplets more arguably triplets. However particularly higher starting numbers are still suboptimal outcomes. cannot answer question whether should offered women triplets twins. only per se because procedure itself does not damage survivors parental autonomy given priority decision process previously. obviate need this infertility specialists must continue vigilant use fertility drugs.
