摘要: Implanted cardioverter/defibrillators (ICD) used as a the non-pharmacological treatment modality in life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias have substantially improved patients’ prognosis. This is reflected by lower rate of sudden deaths shown numerous pertinent studies1. However, overall mortality not significantly patients undergoing ICD implantation than those treated with other modalities2’3. has prompted search for criteria to identify who are likely derive survival benefit from therapy. In this chapter, factors determining effect therapy on prognosis reviewed; diagnostic problems discussed; and recommendations made future directions research.
