摘要: Aberrant DNA methylation plays an important role in genesis of colorectal cancer (CRC). Previously, we identified Group 1 and 2 markers through genome-wide analysis, classified CRC protruded adenoma into three distinct clusters: high-, intermediate- low-methylation epigenotypes. High-methylation epigenotype strongly correlated with BRAF mutations these aberrations were involved the serrated pathway, whereas intermediate-methylation KRAS mutations. Here, investigated laterally spreading tumors (LSTs), which are flat, early lesions, quantitative analysis six 14 using pyrosequencing. Gene BRAF, PIK3CA, immunostaining TP53 CTNNB1 as well other clinicopathological factors also evaluated. By hierarchical clustering information, LSTs two subtypes; correlating (p = 9 × 10−4) a granular morphology (LST-G) 10−7), activation 0.002) nongranular (LST-NG) 10−7). marker barely detected, suggesting that high-methylation was unlikely to be LST development. significantly malignant transformation, regardless or type. Together, this may suggest molecular pathways, intermediate associated LST-G morphology, low LST-NG might development, involvement could both subtypes development from cancer.
