摘要: Background Surgical resection remains the gold standard in dealing with liver tumours. Blood loss, biliary leak and postoperative function are still main concerns of surgeons operating on liver, even though different techniques have been developed to allow safer resection. A novel concept for is described using a radiofrequency energy (RF) assisted technique. Method A patient large colorectal metastasis located segments VI, VII, VIII underwent right hepatectomy this technique. At laparotomy tumour was staged intraoperative ultrasonography, ‘cooled tipped’ probe used achieve ‘zone desiccation’ parenchyma 2 cm away from edge tumour. Liver subsequently divided surgical scalpel. Results The time 80 min blood loss 30 ml. The discharged ninth day without complications. Discussion Liver by RF feasible safe. This technique could offer new method ‘transfusion-free’ need sutures, ties, staples, tissue glue or admission intensive care unit.
