摘要: Abstract We report that incorporation of very low concentrations redox protein cytochrome c and active small molecule vitamin C impacted the outcome one-electron oxidations mediated by structurally distinct plant/fungal heme peroxidases. Evidence suggests function as a relay for diffusible reduced oxygen species in reaction system, without invoking specific or affinity-based molecular interactions electron transfers. The findings provide novel perspectives to understanding – (1) promiscuous role b5 metabolism liver microsomal xenobiotic metabolizing systems (2) roles antioxidant molecules affording relief from oxidative stress.
