摘要: Our objective was to evaluate automation-assisted screening, in comparison the conventional method, a routine population-based cervical cancer-screening programme. study is based on an individually randomised design involving approximately 160,000 invitees and 110,000 attendees every year. From 1999 2001, 471,297 women were invited attend 330,445 smears screened (attendance rate 70.1%), of which 220,254 tested conventionally 110,191 using method. Cytologic Papanicolaou group II findings reported slightly more often (RR = 1.04) method than screening arm. There 1,291 cases histologically confirmed dysplasia or carcinoma (0.4% screened), one-third severe finding (CIN3+). The detection rates verified similar between 2 arms. In Finland, programme has been effective. As rates, particularly CIN3+, arms, we will continue Further follow-up for interval cancer incidence required, however, measure if effect same A evaluation feasible any other major competing modification test element
