摘要: In this nation, the unequal burden of disease among People Color has been well documented. One starting point to eliminating health disparities is recognizing existence inequities in care delivery and identifying complexities how institutional racism may operate within system. paper, we explore integration community-based participatory research (CBPR) principles with an Undoing Racism process conceptualize, design, apply for, secure National Institutes Health (NIH) funding investigate racial equity system breast cancer care. Additionally, describe sequence activities “necessary conflicts” managed by our Disparities Collaborative design submit application for NIH funding. This integrating CBPR anti-racist community organizing presented unique challenges that were negotiated only creating a strong foundation trusting relationships viewed conflict as being necessary. The developing successful grant proposal illustrated variety important lessons associated concepts cultural humility safety. For successfully conducting CBPR, major have included: assembling mobilizing partnership; difficulty establishing shared vision purpose group; problem maintaining trust; willingness address differences cultures. Expectation, acceptance negotiation essential developing, preparing submitting application. Central negotiating these other utilization approach.
