摘要: Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological conditions worldwide, with many affected persons found in Asia, Latin America, and sub-Saharan Africa. Relatedly, large majority these regions does not receive appropriate therapy antiepileptic drugs (AEDs), stemming from various reasons among which are lack access to AEDs, social stigma, negative cultural attitudes. The presence epilepsy resistant available AEDs coupled frequent AED side effects has further fueled widespread growing use botanicals as alternative several traditional societies developing countries since people (PWE) consider them safe effective. There have, however, been few that have examined for their pharmacological activities related uses, there hardly any conclusive evidence regarding efficacy humans or knowledge about exact mechanism(s) action. This review discusses some botanical treatments used challenges faced. article part a Special Issue entitled "Botanicals Epilepsy".
