Progress and controversy for the role of chemotherapy in nasopharyngeal carcinoma

摘要: Since the publication of Intergroup Study 0099, representing a superiority concurrent chemoradiotherapy with cisplatin followed byadjuvant chemotherapy to radiotherapyalone for treatment locoregionallyadvanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma, an efficacyof setting cisplatinbased radiotherapy has been repeatedly validated. In meanwhile, role adjuvant part protocol controversial. There is increasing evidence positive neoadjuvant following whereas favorable contribution was not proven in last century. This article reviews locoregionally advanced carcinoma.
