摘要: This paper articulates a new theoretical perspective on the management of rural mini-grids for facilitating pro-poor electricity access in developing countries. Bridging literature common pool resource (CPR) management/collective action (including its application to irrigation systems) with hydraulic analogy explaining behaviour closed electrical circuits, refined framework is produced analysing socio-cultural institutional conditions sustainable mini-grids. The utility demonstrated via empirical analysis Kenya. yields insights approaches addressing challenges relating mini-grid management, e.g. seasonality demand and fair allocation limited amounts different consumers, ways that are acceptable to, some extent also enforced by entire group diverse users. contributes both literatures CPR energy countries, providing novel contribution emerging turn latter.
