A design methodology for boost inductor applied to PFC converters considering the core temperature rise and the conducted EMI noise

摘要: This paper presents a design methodology to minimize the magnetic volume in single-phase boost PFC converter operating continuous conduction mode (CCM) through choice of switching frequency and input current ripple, taking into account material, standard limits for conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise generated, as well ensuring single-layer winding maximum temperature rise (losses) inductor. Some differences operation point that Sendust, Molypermalloy High-Flux powder cores are discussed. The based on models described is confirmed by experimental results obtained from 650 W (400 V output voltage) universal line (90-264 VRMS) prototype, considering 70 kHz an ripple 40%.
