摘要: Cells that express the NG2 proteoglycan are largest proliferative progenitor population in postnatal central nervous system (CNS). Although this entire has long been considered to be oligodendrocyte progenitors, numerous NG2+ cells present cerebral cortex, where relatively little myelination occurs, and also persist after is complete CNS. Several studies have alluded presence of distinct cell subtypes based on marker expression, but no experimentally derived hypotheses about physiological role these proposed. In current study, whole-cell patch-clamp data from acutely isolated slices demonstrate subcortical white matter cortical display membrane properties addition possessing differing K+- Na+-channel expression profiles. A striking observation a subpopulation cortical, not cells, elicit depolarization-induced spikes akin immature action potentials. Our differ their counterparts.
